lincolntowncar.org - Trunk key lock emblem repair

Tired of having your key lock cover emblem ripped off or vandalized? You know that it's not easy to find for your particular model. Then, if you find it, it may not be as nice looking as the one you had. On top of that, it may be ripped off or vandalized again!!

Here's an alternate and unique solution:
-Go to a scrap yard and try to find a hub cap from any Lincoln. Most of them have always had the silver or gold Lincoln emblem on a black background in the center. That emblem is either glued or screwed to the hub cap.
-Remove the emblem without damaging it. It is usually a round piece made of plastic.
-SLOWLY drill a hole approximately 1/2" in the exact center.
-Remove the old, leftover, broken piece that used to be the lock cover.
-Using contact cement or silicone, glue the Lincoln emblem so that the hole you made is exactly over the key hole.
-Voilą! That's it.

If you live in the northern states or in Canada, where ice may cover the key hole and you cannot insert the key from the outside, you will have to use the trunk release in the glove box.
